Senior Heritage Consultant/Associate Director

About This Role

Join an independent consultancy as a Senior Heritage Consultant or Associate Director, providing specialist built heritage advice to the development sector. This role involves managing a caseload, undertaking historic research, and preparing various assessments while supporting junior staff and liaising with clients.

Responsibilities

• Undertake historic research and analysis of historic buildings
• Prepare heritage assessments and setting assessments for planning applications
• Assist with appeals and expert witness work
• Provide clear heritage advice to colleagues and clients
• Liaise with Historic England and local planning authorities
• Lead projects and liaise with clients and stakeholders
• Provide advice and guidance to junior staff

Requirements

• Appropriate degree or post-graduate qualification in heritage conservation
• Experience of managing your own case load
• Experience in historic research
• Experience in the preparation of Heritage Statements and Setting Assessments
• Good understanding of the role of heritage within the UK planning system

Qualifications
