Senior Frontend Creative Engineer

About This Role

This role is for a design-focused frontend developer who creates immersive, interactive digital experiences with a keen eye for animation, pacing, and motion. You will develop scalable front-end code, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to architectural evolution.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable, maintainable front-end code, anticipating future growth and pivots
• Prioritize performance, usability, and accessibility, pushing boundaries while maintaining clarity
• Identify root causes for issues rather than patching fixes, and support colleagues in troubleshooting
• Communicate proactively, flagging risks and blockers to stakeholders and aligning with business requirements
• Own engineering projects from inception to completion with minimal guidance
• Address technical debt, refactor code to improve developer quality of life, and evolve front-end architecture
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to align on solutions
• Scope tasks and document technical decisions in tickets and centralized notes for a single source of truth
• Accurately estimate feature development effort by understanding existing architecture
• Initiate proof-of-concepts, anticipate cross-functional needs, and evaluate new tools or approaches
• Participate in team discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing, providing technical mentorship

Requirements

• 5+ years of front-end development experience with React, modern JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Deep understanding of motion design as part of interaction design, using animation to guide, inform, and delight users
• Portfolio demonstrating immersive interactive experiences, microsites, brand storytelling websites, or motion-rich interfaces
• Skilled in translating brand stories into interactive experiences
• Comfortable working in gray areas between design, storytelling, and technology
• Keen eye for timing, easing, and visual rhythm
• Experience using frameworks like GSAP and ThreeJS (or similar), and understanding how animation supports UX and brand
• Experience with micro-interaction implementation, including working with Lottie
• Experience with content management systems such as ContentStack, Adobe Experience Manager, Payload, or Wordpress

Qualifications

• 5+ years of front-end development experience with React, modern JavaScript, and TypeScript, preferably in creative studios and/or agencies, digital production companies, or innovation agency environments
