This role involves leading advanced electrical wiring design, certification, and integration efforts across various aerospace programs, primarily focusing on EWIS. The engineer will influence system architecture and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cutting-edge aircraft development.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical authority for EWIS design and certification
- Develop new wire installation designs, modifications, and rework across multiple platforms
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure EWIS designs meet system, safety, and certification requirements
- Work closely with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to support material needs and installation instructions
- Build 3D harness routing models and integrate them into digital mock-ups
- Select wiring components such as connectors, backshells, shielding, and strain reliefs
- Maintain 2D and 3D CAD library parts
- Participate in Systems Design Reviews and coordinate with certification authorities
- Support verification, validation, and creation of certification reports
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or related Engineering field
- 10+ years of relevant EWIS experience
- Strong working knowledge of EWIS requirements, system separation, shielding, grounding, and certification methods
- Experience with wire harness design tools (Capital Harness required)
- Experience with 3D modeling tools (CATIA or NX)
- Understanding of aerospace regulations and certification guidance (ACs, FARs, TSOs, etc.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or related Engineering field
- 10+ years of relevant EWIS experience (preferred)
