Senior Director of Engineering, Measurement and Activation

About This Role

Lead the Measurement and Audience division engineering teams, overseeing core measurement and advertising products built on extensive television viewership and web visitation data. Drive the technical vision, execution, and architectural evolution of platforms for optimizing customer campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing engineering managers and individual contributors
• Define and execute the technical vision and roadmap for the Measurement and Audience product suites
• Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle for teams, from strategic planning to maintenance
• Drive the architectural evolution of Samba's measurement and audience platforms
• Partner closely with Product Management, Data Science, and other cross-functional teams
• Serve as a key technical voice in discussions with senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders
• Manage team resources, project timelines, and deliverables to ensure predictable and high-quality outcomes

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with TV and/or digital ad measurement
• Familiarity with panel weighting strategies
• 8-10+ years of overall software development experience
• 5+ years of engineering management experience, managing managers and ICs
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining pipelines with large-scale ETL systems and data processing frameworks
• Solid experience with API design, development, and maintenance
• Strong understanding of web application architecture
• Proficiency with cloud computing environments (AWS, Google Cloud)

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of overall software development experience with 5+ years in engineering management, including managing other managers and ICs.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with digital ad targeting technology and methodologies
• Familiarity with foundational measurement concepts like identity resolution, experiment design, survey panel weighting
• Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts like lookalike modeling and vector embeddings
