This role provides college-wide leadership and support for the administrative and operational activities of the Financial Aid Department, ensuring compliance with regulations and equitable delivery of financial aid services. This position oversees the administration, planning, and management of various financial aid types, including federal, state, and institutional funding.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of daily operations and coordination of financial aid services.
- Ensure equitable and timely delivery of financial aid by establishing completion guidelines.
- Provide leadership and support to staff regarding financial aid processing.
- Analyze and evaluate financial aid eligibility for students and monitor software for compliance and accurate processing.
- Oversee staff training and application of new financial aid processes and procedures.
- Manage staffing, including recommendations for hiring, termination, and discipline.
- Assist in testing interfacing financial aid systems with internal systems like CID and student records.
- Provide recommendations for staff training on computerized systems and interpretation of financial aid regulations.
- Assist in streamlining and updating financial aid processes for packaging, awarding, and distributing aid.
Requirements
- Master’s degree
- 8 years experience in financial aid processing
- 3 years supervisory or lead experience
Qualifications
- Master’s degree required.
- Eight years in financial aid processing, with three years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a community college setting
