Lead the data engineering function for a software development company, designing and building scalable ETL pipelines and guiding a small data team. Own and strategize the modern data stack built on AWS.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and scale resilient ETL pipelines, transforming raw data into clean, reliable, and actionable assets
- Guide a team of engineers, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement
- Take ownership of a modern data stack built on AWS, driving strategy and making key decisions about tools and technologies
- Define the long-term vision and roadmap for the company's entire data platform
Requirements
- Extensive experience building complex data pipelines using modern orchestration tools like Apache Airflow
- Deep understanding of how to build and maintain scalable systems (ideally with a software engineering background)
- Proficiency with distributed data processing frameworks and query engines (Apache Spark and/or Trino)
- Strong practical experience with the AWS data ecosystem, particularly Redshift, Athena, and S3
- Experience in technical leadership with strong mentorship ability
