The Senior Commercial Portfolio Manager serves as a key member of the client team, working with Commercial Relationship Managers to screen new deals and develop credit solutions. This role primarily involves independently underwriting credit packages and managing a credit portfolio for the largest and most complex client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite, structure, and complete credit packages for complex borrowing relationships (new money, renewals, annual reviews).
- Proactively manage a portfolio of existing client relationships.
- Review borrowing base and covenant calculation trends; monitor changes in borrower’s industry and operating performance; identify changes in borrower’s credit risk profile.
- Create and analyze balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow projections.
- Ensure all credit risk metrics within the assigned portfolio are managed within acceptable risk tolerance.
- Mentor Commercial Portfolio Managers and Commercial Credit Analysts, providing growth opportunities and building the bank’s credit bench strength.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive Commercial Credit experience.
- Formal Commercial Credit Training.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive Commercial Credit experience.
