Senior Aerospace Final Inspector

About This Role

This role involves performing comprehensive quality inspections on electronic systems, electromechanical assemblies, and subassemblies within an aerospace environment. The inspector determines product acceptability based on specifications, communicates findings across departments, and trains junior inspectors.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tests, inspections and measurements required by pre-defined instruction and/or experience
• Conduct inspection of incoming raw materials, first article parts, in-process materials, and finished goods
• Inspect work in progress and completed tasks for compliance with Purchase Order Instructions, Design Drawings & Specifications, Quality Control Plan, Safety, and contractual requirements
• Coordinate and assist with scheduled inspections with FAA/EASA regulatory personnel
• Develop training and train junior individuals on inspection equipment and methods
• Travel to various local and international supplier facilities to perform inspections
• Perform other quality-related tasks as assigned

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience working in a Quality Inspection role
• Experience in aerospace electromechanical quality control inspection
• Experience working in an ISO 9001/AS9100 QMS environment
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, specifications per ASME Y 14.5 and ASME Y 14.100
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, diagrams and schematics relative to installation and repairs
• Ability to train junior inspectors on various inspection equipment
• 6+ years of experience using mechanical/electrical inspection/test tools (calipers, micrometers, multi-meters, surface plate, height gauges, comparator, gauge blocks, thread gauges, etc.) and/or 6+ years working with FAA CFR Part 21 requirements performing and presenting parts for regulatory conformity inspections
• Ability to issue 8130's & Form 1s
• Solid knowledge of AS9102 FAIR requirements and ability to train junior inspector on its completion
• Clear understanding of document types impacted by Configuration Control Changes (Drawings & Specifications, Procedures and Work Instructions)
• Previous experience working with an ERP or MRP systems
• Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience working in a Quality Inspection role and using mechanical/electrical inspection/test tools, or 6+ years working with FAA CFR Part 21 requirements.
