About This Role

This role is a key early hire within Engine by Starling's North America Business Development team, focusing on securing new business and driving revenue growth within leading banks using Engine's core banking software. You will shape and execute sales strategies for the North American market, working closely with a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on winning new business and driving revenue growth for Engine within North America with a consultative sales approach
  • Define, build and execute sales strategies tailored to target segments and sub-segments
  • Spearhead lead generation and contribute to marketing activities and conferences to elevate Engine's brand awareness
  • Support early stage conversations, run client workshops and demos, and help identify and qualify opportunities
  • Manage commercial and contractual conversations
  • Work with Engine teams (delivery, product engineering) throughout the sales lifecycle
  • Contribute to building Business Development capability in North America and globally

Requirements

  • 8+ years in business development, partnerships or a revenue focused role in Banking, Fintech or SaaS
  • Proven ability to generate and convert pipeline
  • Significant experience selling BaaS / Banking SaaS to banks across the continent
  • Experience in working with a network of executives in Banks and Credit Unions serving consumers and small businesses
  • Good grasp of the US regulatory and legislative landscape relating to financial services segments
  • Strong understanding of the banking technology landscape including digital, core banking, FinCrime, Cards, Payments, operational capabilities, data and cloud infrastructure
  • Track record of building 0 to 1 and high-performance within sales
  • Excellent networker and executive presence
  • Good banking and technology aptitude
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Highly self-motivated and self starter
  • Excellent communicator and ability to adapt style to different stakeholders
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills

  • 8+ years in business development, partnerships, or a revenue focused role in Banking, Fintech or SaaS with a proven ability to generate and convert pipeline.
