This seasonal position involves performing various maintenance activities within Rock County Parks. The role requires public interaction with park users and volunteers, under the direction of the Parks Manager, focusing on general park upkeep and facility care.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual tasks like staining, painting, and repairing park infrastructure.
- Manage vegetation, including mowing, planting, seeding, watering, and fertilizing.
- Work with volunteer groups on park improvement and maintenance projects.
- Monitor boat launch ramps and collect boat launch fees.
- Advise the public on park rules and regulations and contact law enforcement as needed.
- Maintain and clean buildings, restrooms, and shelters, including vandalism repairs and graffiti removal.
- Maintain inventories of maintenance supplies and materials for various park duties.
Requirements
- Experience using mowers, pick-up trucks, and lawn trimming equipment.
- Ability to perform manual labor for prolonged periods, including climbing ladders and working from lifts.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work while bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling or in tight locations.
