Seasonal Nursery Caregiver

About This Role

Provide daily care, medical support, and enrichment for nursery animals aged 0-8 weeks, including queens with kittens. Support the foster program and deliver high-standard service in alignment with the San Diego Humane Society's mission to inspire compassion in animal welfare.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily cleaning and feeding routines for nursery animals
• Maintain assigned area in a clean, organized, and professional manner
• Monitor the health of shelter animals and follow established procedures for illness or injury
• Administer subcutaneous fluids and oral medications to animals
• Assist in restraining animals for blood draw and examination
• Handle and nurture animals appropriately based on age and needs

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent

Qualifications

• Highschool graduate or equivalent required
• One (1) year experience working with animals in a kennel, shelter, veterinary hospital, or volunteer environment strongly preferred.
