Perform manual labor tasks including cleaning, sweeping, mowing, and other general maintenance duties across various city locations. This role supports the city's parks and facilities maintenance efforts through seasonal work.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including cleaning, sweeping, cutting, weeding, and/or digging at multiple areas throughout the City of Kinston
- Use or learn to use equipment needed for maintenance work, including in parks and facilities
- Assist with maintaining vehicles and equipment
- Assist with maintenance of city facilities
- Assist with maintaining land and grounds (i.e. mowing, weeding, landscaping, pruning, planting)
- Perform related tasks as required
- Demonstrate good judgment and sound decision making skills in emergency situations
- Work outdoors in diverse weather conditions
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must possess a valid North Carolina drivers license
- Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions
- Experience, or ability to learn, working with hand and yard tools, lawn mowers, shop hand and power tools, small tractors, and other equipment
