Seasonal Laborer - Streets (Public Works)

About This Role

Perform manual labor tasks in the maintenance of City streets and utilities on a seasonal basis for the City of Richland. This role involves using hand and power tools, operating light and heavy equipment, and assisting with various street maintenance duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tasks requiring manual labor, including general maintenance and cleanup duties of assigned areas
• Use light and heavy equipment, hand and power tools, and light and heavy vehicles for seasonal street and utility maintenance
• Assist with seasonal street asphalt and concrete maintenance work including dig-outs, crack sealing, grinding, patching, pavement marking/striping, and rocking/grading shoulders
• Assist in sign making and installations
• Assist with traffic control set-up and breakdown under direction and in support of seasonal work activities
• Operate City vehicles and equipment in a proper and safe manner
• Perform other related projects and duties as assigned

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid driver's license

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred

Nice to Have

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience with street and sidewalk maintenance, preferably with the City of Richland
• Valid Flagger Certification
