Assist the Clocker in accurately recording all workouts on any race course during which the race meeting is being conducted. The role involves identifying horses, using multiple stopwatches, and maintaining a high degree of hospitality in an entertainment industry setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example
- Maintain a high degree of hospitality and a positive and professional demeanor at all times
- Create high levels of morale, foster teamwork, inspire collaboration, and provide suggestions for growth to management
- Accurately record times of horses working out
- Identify horses by trainer’s saddle cloth and horse color
- Record multiple workouts at the same time by using multiple stopwatches
Requirements
- Knowledge of location of race course poles and distances
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to pass Canterbury Park’s pre-employment screening
- Registration with the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA) as a Covered Person
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Nice to Have
- One (1) year of experience clocking workouts
- Accredited through ROAP
