About This Role

Advance the Deliveromics platform by optimizing in-situ barcode sequencing workflows and designing experiments at the chemistry-biology interface. This multifaceted role involves hands-on contributions to transformative technology enabling systematic, cell-specific drug delivery in vivo.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize in-situ barcode sequencing workflows for robust, reproducible, high-quality data
  • Design experiments at the chemistry-biology interface to advance spatial readout performance
  • Analyze results quantitatively, document findings clearly, and provide recommendations that guide platform development
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping (e.g., protocols, SOPs, experimental records)
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges and integrate new methods across teams
  • Apply statistical tools to assess quality, identify variability, and drive optimization
  • Help scale workflows from benchtop prototypes to automated, production-ready systems

Requirements

  • PhD in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or related field
  • Hands-on expertise in developing novel tools and methods for spatial biology, spanning FISH, RNAscope, MERFISH, in situ sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and spatial proteomics
  • Basic coding skills (e.g., Python, R, or MATLAB)
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting optical imaging systems (confocal or fluorescence microscopy)
  • Practical knowledge of tissue processing workflows (fresh-frozen and FFPE prep, cryosectioning, antigen retrieval)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and experimental rigor
  • Clear communicator who collaborates well across scientific and technical teams
  • Resourceful, adaptable team player who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments

Qualifications

  • PhD in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or related field

Nice to Have

  • Experiences with nucleic acid chemistry (mRNA, ASO, and siRNA, etc.)
  • Experiences with drug delivery systems (lipid nanoparticles, polymer nanoparticles, AAV, etc.)
  • Experience with image analysis pipelines or software tools (e.g., ImageJ or CellProfiler)
  • Prior experience working with mouse and non-human primate tissues
  • Familiarity with NGS or single-cell sequencing workflows such as scRNA-seq, ATAC-seq, or related methods
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting liquid-handling platforms or automated lab systems
  • Relevant work experience in spatial biology, imaging, or sequencing-heavy environments
