Science Teacher: Physical Science

About This Role

This role is responsible for providing instructional support to students as a Science Teacher, focusing on Physical Science, by developing lesson plans, delivering instruction, and managing classroom operations to ensure student academic success and a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and administer instructional programs and conduct classroom operations in compliance with school directives, board policy, and state/federal laws.
• Be responsible for the overall instruction, operation, management, and supervision of the classroom.
• Demonstrate a variety of teaching methods to provide an effective program addressing individual student needs.
• Administer and develop subject-specific assessments to evaluate student competency levels and develop individual learning plans.
• Assess student progress against learning targets and monitor students in various education environments for a safe learning environment.
• Instruct and counsel students to enhance academic performance, appropriate behavior, and problem-solving skills.
• Manage student behavior to provide a safe and optimal learning environment.
• Collaborate with instructional staff, school personnel, and parents.
• Support and assist other classroom teachers with curriculum implementation and individual student plans.
• Advise parents/legal guardians of student progress and communicate expectations.
• Gather information and prepare written materials such as grades, lesson plans, correspondence, and attendance.
