School Counselor

About This Role

The School Counselor delivers prevention and intervention programs to all students, helping them achieve mastery of school counseling standards. This role involves individual student planning, responsive services, and connecting students and families to essential resources.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prevention and intervention programs to help students achieve mastery of school counseling standards
• Design and implement individual student planning to help students manage their own learning
• Provide responsive services such as individual or small group counseling to address immediate student needs
• Connect students and families to school and community resources through referrals
• Share strategies that support student achievement through consultation
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support student achievement and advocate for access and equity
• Plan and manage the comprehensive school counseling program, including assessments, tools, and systems
• Analyze program effectiveness to ensure accountability
• Participate in fair-share responsibilities to ensure smooth school operation

Requirements

• Completed State of Tennessee requirements for school counseling educator licensure and preparation
