Provide mental health services to K-12 students within school settings, assessing therapeutic needs, creating treatment plans, and delivering individual and group psychotherapy. Advocate for clients in crisis and coordinate services with providers.
Responsibilities
- Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and complete formal assessments
- Create and review client treatment plans
- Provide psychotherapy in accordance with the child's treatment plans
- Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in addressing family system, mental health, parenting, and alcohol/drug issues through individual, family, or group counseling
- Organize and facilitate structured group, individual and/or family activities
- Provide consultation to the child's school and school personnel as needed
- Coordinate services and maintain communication with all service providers involved with the clients
Requirements
- Master's Degree
- Licensure to provide mental health therapy in Wisconsin (full or in-training)
Qualifications
- Master's Degree and licensure to provide mental health therapy in the state of Wisconsin
- A minimum of 1,000 hours of clinical experience is preferred.
Nice to Have
- Interest in providing services to students K-12 in a school setting
- Experience with working with schools and an understanding of family systems, the effects and treatment of children and teens who have suffered emotional trauma
- 1,000 hours of clinical experience
