About This Role

Lead daily sanitation operations at a food production facility, ensuring equipment cleanliness and safety. Manage a team of sanitation professionals, uphold food safety standards, and collaborate with key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Train, coach, and support sanitation technicians to follow safety protocols and sanitation SOPs
  • Oversee daily sanitation operations, including disassembly, cleaning, sanitizing, and reassembly per USDA/FDA standards
  • Meet site-level KPIs and labor targets while maintaining high food safety and safety standards
  • Ensure audit readiness, accurate documentation, and support third-party and regulatory inspections
  • Build trust with plant leadership by proactively communicating performance and aligning sanitation goals with production targets
  • Coordinate cleaning access and work through recurring issues with sanitation effectiveness, allergens, or hygienic design
  • Partner with HR and Finance on hiring, training, and budgeting
  • Identify process gaps, implement efficiencies, and elevate sanitation practices across the site

Requirements

  • 5+ years leadership experience in food processing sanitation
  • Strong working knowledge of GMPs, SSOPs, ATP/Pre-Op Inspections, allergen control, and USDA/FDA requirements
  • Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication (HAZCOMM), PPE, and chemical safety
  • Ability to use digital tools (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) for scheduling, documentation, and reporting

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a leadership role within a food processing sanitation environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with corrective action planning
  • Experience with audit support
  • Experience with labor cost management at the site level
