Sales & Food Associate

About This Role

This role involves providing friendly customer service and processing transactions, along with maintaining store cleanliness and food service operations at a Get n Go convenience store in Hartford.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and outgoing customer service, resolving complaints as needed
• Process customer transactions and participate in suggestive selling
• Follow cash control procedures, complete cash drops, and prepare shift reports
• Clean store interior and exterior, including sweeping, mopping, wiping, and sanitizing restrooms
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays both inside and outside the store
• Maintain and follow safety procedures, including fuel dispensing
• Prepare food according to guidelines and operate food equipment safely
• Ensure accurate stock levels and availability of food service items
• Accurately record waste and comply with all health code regulations for safe food handling
• Communicate with management staff regarding any food service issues or concerns

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (read, write, hear, speak, understand)
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for change and shift reports
• Ability to carry, push/pull, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work alone or with others, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work in freezer and coolers for up to 30 minutes at 10 degrees

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• Previous experience in foodservice and/or retail environment
• Great customer service and interpersonal skills
