Safely operate heavy-duty roll-off waste collection trucks, transporting large containers to disposal sites and customer locations while providing courteous waste removal services.
Responsibilities
- Operate vehicle in accordance with Amwaste Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, and DOT requirements
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and document checks on standard DVIR
- Immediately report any unsafe situations or service-related issues to Route Manager or Dispatch
- Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings
- Work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices
- Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage
- Notify Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions or potential safety hazards
- Communicate customer requests to Route Manager or Dispatch
- Identify and report all containers in need of repair or replacement
- Complete and submit customer tickets as required
- Position and/or return container on the customer’s property ensuring lids/doors are properly replaced and do not block entrances or traffic
- Follow route assignments as directed and complete end of day documentation and checkout process
- Perform all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed
Requirements
- 21 years of age or older
- Acceptable driving record
- Valid CDL class B license
- Valid Medical Card
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
