The Reman & Overhaul Technician pioneers innovation by assembling, disassembling, inspecting, and evaluating engines and components for defects. This role ensures functionality and conformance to specifications in an international manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and/or disassemble MTU and other engines, systems, and components per specification
- Inspect and evaluate components for defects based on specifications and drawings
- Recommend core acceptance or rejection based on inspection and evaluation
- Inspect, operate, and test products to validate functionality and conformance to specifications
- Analyze and interpret test results to diagnose equipment capabilities and next steps
- Position and align components for assembly using manual methods or hoists
- Create and implement new processes, fixturing, and tooling as needed
- Inspect, rework, repair, and replace damaged parts or assemblies following guidance
- Collect, read, and interpret blueprints and specification manuals to plan operations
- Verify and document conformance of parts to blueprints using measuring instruments
- Operate forklifts, overhead and jib cranes safely to maneuver parts or equipment
- Perform appropriate SAP transactions for tracking and process compliance
- Support Engineering and/or Quality to submit deviation requests for out-of-scope repairs
- Operate a variety of mechanical and CNC machinery for engine component processing
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas and comply with safety regulations
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Two years field service, mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience
- Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship

- Advanced operational ability and skill (Skilled Based Pay Competency Level 3)
- Skilled use of mechanical and electrical hand tools
- Skilled use of measurement and testing tools for mechanical and electrical systems
- Knowledge in technical language and engineering terminology
- Knowledge in the practical principles of electronics, physics, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Good factory representation, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Good organizational, planning and follow up skills
- Good analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good knowledge in the physical properties of fuels, coolants, lubricants, and oils
- Ability to lift, push, pull weights in the 20-60 lbs. range
- Ability to use a PC and MS Office Suite
- Experience with MTU engines and electronics
- Experience in a large engine service industry
- Experience in operating forklift trucks
- Experience in rigging of weights up to 5 tons
- Experience in report and service letter writing
- Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
