RN Unit Manager

About This Role

Acacia Care Rehab and Nursing Center seeks an experienced RN Unit Manager to join its leadership team, overseeing daily nursing operations and staff to ensure high standards of resident care.

Responsibilities

• Support the DON and ADON in overseeing daily nursing operations
• Supervise professional and non-professional staff, ensuring quality care delivery
• Manage unit staffing to maintain proper coverage and minimize overtime/agency use
• Address resident and family concerns with professionalism and compassion
• Provide coaching, progressive counseling, and disciplinary action as needed
• Participate in care planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings
• Oversee MDS completion and quality assurance initiatives
• Teach, demonstrate, and evaluate nursing skills to support staff development
• Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of nursing personnel
• Attend committee meetings and contribute to facility-wide goals
• Step into nursing responsibilities on weekends/holidays as needed

Requirements

• Current RN license in New Jersey

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or similar setting (preferred); Minimum 6 months’ experience in rehabilitative/restorative nursing practices

Nice to Have

• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or similar setting
• Previous long-term care experience
• Minimum 6 months’ experience in rehabilitative/restorative nursing practices
