Lead the Trauma Program's performance improvement initiatives to ensure safe, high-quality patient care from arrival to discharge, working with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Director to review cases, analyze system performance, and implement data-driven improvements.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze trauma cases (real-time and retrospectively) to assess quality, timeliness, adherence to guidelines, and alignment with ACS and state standards
- Identify and validate performance-improvement opportunities, adverse events, and system issues, and support action plans for measurable, closed-loop improvements
- Coordinate and document Trauma PIPS activities, PI events, data elements, and registry information to demonstrate compliance and support trauma center verification
- Prepare and present selected cases, trends, and quality findings for multidisciplinary PI, peer review, and trauma operations meetings
- Educate and support clinical teams, residents, EMS agencies, and outlying facilities by sharing trauma PI principles, guidelines, and best practices
- Collaborate and contribute to guideline development, research initiatives, verification preparation, and ongoing improvements across the trauma service line
Requirements
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 30 days of employment)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (within 30 days of employment)
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (within 30 days of employment)
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (within 30 days of employment)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (within 30 days of employment)
Qualifications
- Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
