Provide relationship-centered, compassionate, quality nursing care to mother and baby patients, utilizing the ANA Nursing Process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate direct patient care. Contribute to the prevention or resolution of illness and advocate for individuals within interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health and/or situation
- Analyze assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues
- Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer of the situation
- Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes
- Implement the identified plan, ensuring patient progression along the plan
- Coordinate care delivery
- Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment through health teaching and health promotion
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes
- Provide leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession
- Practice within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse and deliver competent care consistent with standards/policies, laws, and regulations
Requirements
- Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) (within 60 days of hire or transfer)
- Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
Qualifications
- Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Nice to Have
- 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience
- Bachelors degree in Nursing
