About This Role

Join PrairieCare as an Inpatient Registered Nurse to provide exceptional psychiatric and mental health care to adolescent and young adult patients. This role focuses on conducting assessments, delivering high-quality nursing care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct impactful assessments and monitor daily functioning to guide patient care
• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care using critical thinking skills
• Collaborate with a dynamic multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes
• Create a nurturing therapeutic environment while minimizing restraint and seclusion
• Engage patients through planning and facilitating nursing groups
• Administer medications accurately and empower patients and families with education
• Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care while maintaining confidentiality
• Skillfully intervene in crisis situations using effective de-escalation techniques

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a Nursing Degree
• Current RN licensure with the Minnesota State Board of Nursing
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently
• Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
• Basic computer skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Ability to react quickly and calmly in volatile or emergent situations
• Proactive mindset that seeks to improve quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a Nursing Degree; BSN preferred.
• At least 1 year of psychiatric/mental health nursing experience within the past two years
