Retail Operations Specialist - Bakery/Deli

About This Role

Consult, direct, and manage all aspects of assigned stores' Bakery and Deli department operations to maximize sales, gross margins, and customer experiences. Ensure effective utilization of personnel and resources while adhering to company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maximize department sales and gross profits using company programs and experience
• Provide counsel to store owners/managers on equipment, product merchandising, selection, pricing, and training
• Ensure all corporate store policies are followed and suggest changes as needed
• Ensure compliance with all state, county, and local weights and measures laws and labeling requirements
• Assist store managers in interviewing, hiring, and training department managers and employees
• Make individual store visits and assist store owners in achieving and maintaining business relationship with the company
• Implement and adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations
• Research, create, assist, participate, and present new programs, promotions, and training seminars
• Assist and supervise new store set-ups, resets, and staff training
• Monitor labor scheduling and suggest changes in department schedules

Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of department staff positions and procedures
• Mathematical proficiency for calculations
• Analytical ability for gross margins, yields, ratios
• Administrative accuracy for vendor invoices and reports
• Ability to lift or exert force up to 50 pounds frequently
• Sufficient physical mobility
• Ability to tolerate moderate amounts of dust and cleaning agents
• Ability to hear, speak, and understand English
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and interpreting professional documents
• 2-5 years of experience in the grocery or supermarket industry

Qualifications

• Associate Degree - General Studies, High School Diploma - General Studies
• 2-5 years of experience in the grocery or supermarket industry.
