Remote Baker Role

About This Role

Turing is seeking baking professionals to join the Common Lives Project, a research initiative that collects real-world footage to train AI systems. Participants will wear GoPro cameras while baking and managing prep, recording daily activities for five days within a two-week window.

Responsibilities

• Capture daily activities for 5 separate days within a 2-week window using a head-mounted GoPro camera
• Record a minimum of 7 hours per day, with flexibility to take breaks and pause the camera for privacy
• Upload footage to a secure platform at the end of each day
• Review short clips daily
• Choose to delete, anonymize, or consent to each video segment

Requirements

• Work indoors in non-customer-facing roles
• Self-employed or have employer consent to record in work environment
• Access to a computer and internet connection
• Comfortable using web-based tools for uploading and reviewing clips
• All adults in the recording space are fluent English speakers and consent to recording
• Live in a private, self-contained apartment, building, or indoor work environment
• No children (under 18) present or visiting during the recording period
• All household members agree to appear in footage
• Must not reside in Illinois, Texas, Washington, New York, Colorado, California, Oregon, Quebec, Kentucky, South Carolina

Qualifications

• Entry level with baking or similar manual/creative work experience.

Nice to Have

• Shared workplace or household with a colleague who also participates and has a GoPro mounted
• Engaged in manual or creative work (e.g., chef, baker, artist, carpenter, musician, electrician, mechanic)
