This role involves performing the duties of various positions within the deli department, covering for absent associates, and ensuring smooth operation of production processes. It requires a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork within the plant environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform the functions of all positions throughout the department as requested by manager due to vacations, holidays, sickness, etc.
- Cover for unplanned absences and relieve associates for breaks and lunches
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment
- Stay updated on changes to procedures and practices for all department positions
- Perform day-to-day tasks of the Department Manager and/or Team Leader during their absences
- Serve as a positive role model for all associates and develop in-depth knowledge of entire plant operations
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must demonstrate excellent work habits in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Must demonstrate safe working habits
- Must be able to work at heights above 25 feet (on ladders, high-lifts, catwalks)
- Must be able to work with chemicals and industrial cleaners
- Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds frequently
- Must obtain license and operate forklift
- Must be able to learn and perform all positions
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must have good human relations skills (team player)
- Must be able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
- Must have excellent attendance and punctuality
- Must be willing to assist other team members in other areas
- Must be able to perform steady and productive work for an extended period of time
- Must be able to work efficiently with little or no supervision
- Must be able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- Must possess basic math skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Must show enthusiasm, initiative, pride in work, and commitment to Publix and its mission
