This role is for a travel Registered Nurse specializing in Telemetry, providing care for various medical and post-operative surgical patients. The nurse will work in a 34-bed unit, managing patient care with a focus on remote telemetry monitoring and general surgical recovery while adhering to established patient ratios.
Responsibilities
- Manage and provide care for medical patients with conditions such as CHF, Diabetes, Dialysis, COPD, ETOH, and IVDA
- Oversee post-operative and observation general surgical patients
- Utilize telemetry – remote monitoring in conjunction with a tele tech
- Perform IV insertion, trach management, and chest tube management
- Administer NG tube placement and management, and feeding tube care
- Manage foley placement, wound care, dressing changes, and central line management
- Collaborate with CNAs, Unit Secretary, Charge Nurse, Hospitalist, and RT staff
- Chart patient information using EPIC system and utilize BD Alaris IV Pumps and Omnicell equipment
- Work every other weekend as part of the scheduling rotation
Requirements
- Registered Nurse license
- 1 year of nursing experience
- BLS certification
- CPI or MOAB certification (prior to start)
- IV insertion skills
- Trach management skills
- Chest tube management skills
- NG Tube placement and management skills
- Feeding tube management skills
- Foley placement and management skills
- Wound care skills
- Dressing change skills
- Central line management skills
- Must not live within a 75-mile radius of the facility
Qualifications
- 1 year of minimum experience
Nice to Have
- ACLS certification
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
- Previous travel nursing experience
