This Registered Nurse (RN) position involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct care for patients with varying healthcare needs in inpatient, outpatient, and procedural areas. The role requires continual response to dynamic patient acuity changes and rapidly changing nursing responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care in accordance with ANA Scope and Standards of Care and Practice, Patient Bill of Rights and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses
- Deliver patient care in accordance with specialty specific standards (e.g. Oncology Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses) as appropriate
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the patient plan of care according to changing health care needs
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient teaching using appropriate education resources and evaluates the effectiveness of the teaching
- Model effective leadership skills through role modeling, mentoring and effective communication
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned
- Directly delegate and supervise the practice of ancillary staff (LPN’s, PCA’s, Tech’s, Unit Secretaries, etc.)
- Support a professional practice environment by functioning as a role model and resource person
- Function as a preceptor for nursing staff and participates in the orientation of other unit employees
- Participate in unit-based and organization-wide activities, committees and community activities as appropriate
- Identify own learning needs with respect to nursing practice and pursues educational support to meet these needs
- Utilize Evidence Based Practice literature, policy and procedure manuals and other available reference materials
- Participate actively in the Performance Improvement process to evaluate the quality of nursing care delivered to patients
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current NJ RN License
- BLS through American Heart Association
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum one-year current clinical experience preferred
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's Degree BSN preferred
- Minimum one-year current clinical experience preferred
- National certification related to specialty area
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (may be required dependent on specialty area)
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (may be required dependent on specialty area)
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation (may be required dependent on specialty area)
