About This Role

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department works collaboratively within St. Mary's Health Care System to provide excellent patient care to a diverse patient population. This role focuses on delivering evidence-based and individualized care, facilitating aspects of the patient visit experience, and treating the whole person.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients in the Emergency Department (14-bed unit specializing in Cardiology and Stroke care)
  • Develop, evaluate, and modify patient care plans
  • Interpret and perform complex patient-care procedures specific to expertise
  • Function as a member of the Care Team and Support Team to achieve patient outcomes
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame
  • Provide care via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, environment/technology, and other healthcare team members

Requirements

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or equivalent

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or equivalent
  • Prior experience preferred, new graduates considered
