The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Coronary ICU is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and providing high-quality, individualized patient care using the nursing process. This role involves initiating multidisciplinary care plans and ensuring patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Initiate a multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plan for each patient in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Adhere to DMC practices for pain management and moderate sedation
- Demonstrate appropriate use of restraints and identify patients at risk for abuse
- Ensure patient safety by assessing and proactively implementing safety measures
- Provide appropriate nursing interventions, including medication administration, IV therapy, and medical equipment management
- Complete comprehensive neurological examinations and care for critically injured trauma patients
- Keep Manager/Director informed of difficulties and unusual situations
- Demonstrate the ability to provide care in emergency situations
- Delegate patient care tasks to ancillary personnel and evaluate effectiveness of care
- Perform duties that provide for the physical, psycho-social and spiritual needs of critically ill patients
Requirements
- CA RN license
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- TCAR certification
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience or successful completion of ICU internship program preferred.
Nice to Have
- BSN preferred
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience or successful completion of ICU internship program preferred
- CCRN preferred
