Registered Nurse, Orthopedics

About This Role

Provide direct patient care to patients utilizing the nursing process within Medical Surgical Orthopaedics, adhering to applicable scope and standards of practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments
• Document patient care given
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family
• Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
• Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide appropriate patient/family education
• Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing
• Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license)
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of hire
• Critical thinking skills
• Decisive judgment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
• Computer proficiency

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing Required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
