Registered Nurse - Mother Baby

About This Role

Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns during the postpartum period, monitoring for complications, administering medications, and performing routine assessments. Educate new mothers on infant care, breastfeeding, and self-care, while collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns during the postpartum period, monitoring both patients for signs of complications
• Administer medications as prescribed and perform routine assessments of both maternal and newborn vital signs
• Provide emotional support and education to new mothers, focusing on: safe, effective infant care, breastfeeding, and self-care post-delivery
• Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and holistic care during and after hospital stay
• Accurately document maternal and newborn assessments, interventions, and outcomes in line with hospital policies and procedures

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree (ADN) or above in nursing
• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification from the American Heart Association
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathetic patient and family-centered care
• Proficiency in electronic medical record systems

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree (ADN) or above in nursing
• 1+ year experience in a mother-baby, postpartum, or labor and delivery setting preferred
