Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology

About This Role

This Registered Nurse role in Interventional Radiology involves assisting medical professionals during diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures. The nurse will administer and monitor contrast agents, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and educate patients on care.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiologists and other medical professionals during diagnostic imaging examinations and interventional radiology procedures
• Administer and monitor intravenous contrast agents, ensuring that any allergic reactions or complications are promptly addressed
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide optimal patient care before, during, and after radiologic and diagnostic imaging procedures
• Educate patients and their families on pre- and post-procedure care, explaining the risks and benefits of radiologic tests and contrast agents
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all nursing care in accordance with hospital and departmental policies

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree (ADN) or above in nursing
• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association
• Strong understanding of radiologic and imaging procedures and safety protocols, including the use of contrast media
• Proficient in electronic medical record systems

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree (ADN) or above in nursing
• 1 year experience in radiology, ICU, or a high-acuity clinical setting preferred

Nice to Have

• 1 year experience in radiology, ICU, or a high-acuity clinical setting
• Experience in Interventional radiology, Nuclear medicine, or Sedation
