The Director of Nursing provides leadership and strategic direction for all medical operations at LifePath Systems, ensuring the delivery of person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally appropriate medical services. This role focuses on optimizing the medical service delivery system for efficiency, quality, and financial sustainability. The DON also leads collaboration across clinical, medical, and administrative functions to achieve measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for all medical and nursing services across outpatient clinics, crisis services, and other medical programs
- Ensure safe, effective, evidence-based medical practices across all service settings
- Promote collaboration between nursing, prescribers, behavioral health, and administrative teams
- Ensure continuity of care and appropriate medical coverage across clinics and crisis centers
- Monitor, analyze, and improve performance, efficiency, and effectiveness across all medical programs
- Use data and outcomes to inform strategic planning, program adjustments, and growth
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards, including licensing requirements
- Review, develop, and revise medical policies and procedures as needed
- Investigate assigned complaints, incidents, and adverse events; implement timely corrective actions
- Support, develop, and retain a high-performing medical and nursing workforce through training, coaching, and oversight
- Monitor and adjust prescriber and nursing caseloads and schedules to ensure access and quality
- Oversee medical program budgets and expenditures
- Foster strong internal collaboration across programs
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community stakeholders to support coordinated care and system integration
- Represent LifePath Systems in relevant community and interagency initiatives
Requirements
- Graduate of a professional nursing school approved by the Texas Board of Nursing and accredited by ACEN or CCNE
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted Texas License as a Registered Nurse
- 7 years professional nursing experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in nursing supervisory role
- Minimum 3 years working with individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders
- In-depth knowledge of psychopathology and psychotropic medications
- Ability to perform crisis intervention and triage
- Ability to inspire a person-centered care environment while maintaining confidentiality, respect, and dignity
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships
- Self-starter, takes initiative in completing tasks
- Demonstrated ability to ensure effective communication
- Knowledge of the social services system
- Organized, detail oriented, computer proficient, able to write clearly and professionally
- Excellent communication and listening skills
Qualifications
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the Texas Board of Nursing and accredited by ACEN or CCNE, Bachelor of Science in Nursing highly preferred.
- 7 years professional nursing experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a nursing supervisory role and 3 years working with individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
