About This Role

This role will support Girl Scout adult volunteers and girl members in a specific region, helping them transform ideas into impactful experiences. The specialist will recruit, train, and develop volunteer teams, and act as the primary point of contact for their region.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and develop collaborative regional and service unit volunteer teams in an assigned area, serving as the primary point of contact
  • Coach, support, and celebrate volunteers who lead troops, groups, and programs
  • Build strong relationships across communities as the primary point of contact for regional volunteers
  • Empower volunteers to confidently use systems such as Volunteer Toolkit, Volunteer Essentials, and other council-provided materials
  • Partner with internal teams to deliver meaningful training, resources, and recognition
  • Help volunteers navigate challenges, resolve conflicts, and grow with confidence
  • Support membership growth and retention to ensure more girls can belong and lead
  • Ensure volunteers feel equipped using tools, systems, and council resources in a timely manner

Requirements

  • One year of demonstrated work experience supporting volunteers or working in a people-centered, mission-driven role
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities with empathy, organization, and care
  • Appreciation for diverse communities and a commitment to inclusive support
  • Ability to effectively mediate volunteer conflicts, while supporting positive outcomes for Girl Scouts
  • Comfort with technology and learning new systems
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends and travel locally
  • Commitment to the Girl Scout Promise and Law

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • One year of demonstrated work experience supporting volunteers or working in a people-centered, mission-driven role

Nice to Have

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
