Refuse Truck Driver

About This Role

Operate refuse trucks to collect waste in residential and commercial areas for Sunshine Disposal & Recycling in Airway Heights, WA. This role involves driving various truck types, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, and communicating with supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Arrive to work on time and receive paperwork and/or tablet
• Perform pre-trip inspection of the truck and complete DVIR form
• Report maintenance issues to Supervisor before moving truck
• Drive truck as routed in same geographic area on a daily and weekly basis
• Open and close container lids as needed, noting maintenance issues
• Communicate effectively with Route Supervisor and Operations Manager regarding dispatch or route issues
• Return truck to yard at end of workday and perform basic clean out
• Perform vehicle post-trip inspection and complete post-trip DVIR
• Submit route work information to Supervisor or office via tablet data and paper notes
• Attend all necessary meetings as scheduled including safety and skill training

Requirements

• Class A CDL with No Air Brake restriction
• Valid USDOT Medical Certificate
• Meet insurance carrier requirements for driving record
• Pass security check for Fairchild Air Force Base access pass
• Basic computer literacy
• 1 year of CDL driving experience of Class A and B commercial vehicles

Qualifications

• One (1) year of CDL driving experience of Class A and B commercial vehicles is required.
