This position coordinates and assists with athletic activities within the Parks and Recreation Department, ensuring proper oversight, safety standards, and professional presentation of events. The Recreation Leader reports to the League Sports Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight to Parks and Recreation athletic activities, including supervising participants
- Enforce organizational guidelines and ensure all appropriate safety standards
- Assist with tournaments, leagues, clinics, or other related recreation athletic activities
Requirements
- Ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of department and Recreation Center rules and regulations
- Knowledge of safety principles and procedures involved in recreational programs or events
- Skill in effective communication, both orally and in writing
- Ability to meet and deal with employees and the public in an effective and courteous manner
Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years' experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
