About This Role

As a Receiving Inspector at Neon Aero, you will be the primary guardian of quality for incoming aerospace materials, components, and assemblies, ensuring everything meets strict engineering and compliance standards before entering production. This role is crucial in reinventing how the world flies by upholding the highest quality standards from the very start of the supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed visual and physical inspections of incoming aerospace parts (raw materials, hardware, complex assemblies) using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.)
  • Review and validate supplier documentation, including Certificates of Conformance (CoC), Material Test Reports (MTR), and Certificates of Analysis
  • Confirm all received items match purchase order (PO), drawings, and customer specifications, scanning vendor paperwork into the ERP system and entering inspection results
  • Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming materials and initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), reporting to appropriate Quality Engineers (QEs)
  • Support or perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) per AS9102 to validate new production parts
  • Assist with internal and external QMS audits for compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA requirements
  • Partner with Operations to collect expired inspection equipment for recalibration and/or replacement

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and complex technical drawings
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5)
  • Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management Systems and aviation regulatory standards
  • Ability to lift or maneuver parts up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to pass a visual acuity exam (Snellen 20/25 or similar) and color discrimination test

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; technical or trade school coursework acceptable; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality

Nice to Have

  • Experience operating automated inspection equipment such as CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) or Faro/Romer Arms
  • Inspection experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-precision manufacturing environments
