Receiving and Stocking Clerk

About This Role

This role involves overseeing all incoming deliveries at Seneca Dining Hall, ensuring accuracy and quality of stock, and supporting other operational areas like stocking the store, front-of-house, and dish room. The clerk will adhere to company policies, food safety guidelines, and maintain organized storage areas.

Responsibilities

• Receive and check incoming stock for accuracy of amount and quality using vendors’ invoice and departmental receiving order
• Follow receiving procedures to ensure food safety guidelines are adhered to (e.g., temperature, packaging, date range)
• Assist in loading and unloading of all trucks when necessary
• Participate in assigned cleaning and maintenance of storage areas, coolers, and freezers to ensure they are in neat orderly condition
• Unpack supplies; date and store all stock in proper storage area, rotating stock using first-in/first-out principle
• Deliver equipment, food items, and supplies to various locations using a box truck
• Assist with performing inventory as directed
• Operate dish machine, electric pallet jack, snow blower, and garbage disposal
• Provide instruction to assigned Food Service Student employees
• Replenish and stock products throughout the facility as needed

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Valid NYS driver’s license
• Ability to effectively communicate with vendors and faculty
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Previous receiving or stocking experience preferred but not required; janitorial experience; familiarity with general maintenance procedures, tools and/or equipment.
