Perform X-ray and fluoroscopy tests, assist with patient scheduling, and ensure accurate documentation and patient care in a clinic setting. This role supports the Radiology department by conducting requested X-rays and maintaining high standards of patient communication and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Conduct requested X-rays in the Radiology department per physician's orders
- Obtain patient's clinical history before beginning any exam and document accurately upon completion
- Demonstrate competency in collimation, positioning, and techniques for X-rays
- Evaluate films for technical quality before delivery to the radiologist
- Monitor film badge and follow up on exposure level results monthly
- Receive patients and visitors in a friendly, timely fashion, ascertaining their needs and directing accordingly
- Recognize and honor the importance of patient confidentiality during all phases of patient registration and discharge
- Answer the telephone promptly, communicate appropriate information, and take messages accurately
- Direct patient and visitor traffic flow as necessary
- Apply computer concepts for office procedures, including order entry and information retrieval
- Maintain physical office environment and equipment, reporting equipment in need of repair
- Inventory and order supplies as needed
- Prepare patients for exams by healthcare provider, assisting with exams as needed
- Assist with rooming patients, including taking accurate health history and obtaining basic vital signs
- Perform point-of-care testing
Requirements
- Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program in an approved school
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- State of Illinois licensure through the Department of Nuclear Safety or EMA
- State of Indiana licensure through the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH)
- Current BLS certification
- Willingness to travel to various Imaging locations within the organization
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to demonstrate appropriate clinical skills
- Ability to perform complex and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
