About This Role

Perform X-ray and fluoroscopy tests, assist with patient scheduling, and ensure accurate documentation and patient care in a clinic setting. This role supports the Radiology department by conducting requested X-rays and maintaining high standards of patient communication and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct requested X-rays in the Radiology department per physician's orders
  • Obtain patient's clinical history before beginning any exam and document accurately upon completion
  • Demonstrate competency in collimation, positioning, and techniques for X-rays
  • Evaluate films for technical quality before delivery to the radiologist
  • Monitor film badge and follow up on exposure level results monthly
  • Receive patients and visitors in a friendly, timely fashion, ascertaining their needs and directing accordingly
  • Recognize and honor the importance of patient confidentiality during all phases of patient registration and discharge
  • Answer the telephone promptly, communicate appropriate information, and take messages accurately
  • Direct patient and visitor traffic flow as necessary
  • Apply computer concepts for office procedures, including order entry and information retrieval
  • Maintain physical office environment and equipment, reporting equipment in need of repair
  • Inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Prepare patients for exams by healthcare provider, assisting with exams as needed
  • Assist with rooming patients, including taking accurate health history and obtaining basic vital signs
  • Perform point-of-care testing

Requirements

  • Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program in an approved school
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • State of Illinois licensure through the Department of Nuclear Safety or EMA
  • State of Indiana licensure through the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Willingness to travel to various Imaging locations within the organization
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate clinical skills
  • Ability to perform complex and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications
