About This Role

Join the Amarillo VA as a Radiologist to interpret and analyze complex medical images for the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries in veterans. This role involves providing a range of diagnostic services and contributing to a dedicated medical team.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze complex medical images to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries
• Provide diagnostic services including, but not limited to, interpretation of mammography (screening & diagnostic), PET, plain films, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI
• Perform and/or interpret studies utilizing PACS and voice recognition systems
• Meet productivity benchmarks and be responsible for the interpretation of studies and report generation for all credentialed studies
• Ensure all studies and clinical notes are dictated and signed in a timely manner
• Communicate directly with ordering providers on all critical findings
• Participate in peer review activities as well as attend clinical conferences as assigned by the Service Chief or designee
• Fulfill equitable night call and weekend back-up duties as needed
• Teach, supervise, and evaluate radiology residents and medical students from affiliated medical schools
