About This Role

The Radiological Technology Instructor provides comprehensive classroom instruction and coordinates clinical and didactic education for students in the program. This role facilitates students' academic and vocational objectives at Moorpark College.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, implement, and evaluate clinical and didactic education while participating in instructional activities
  • Support program operations, accreditation, and assessment efforts
  • Maintain current knowledge of the profession and educational best practices
  • Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses
  • Assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking skills among students
  • Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study and effective study skills
  • Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and student learning outcomes
  • Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes
  • Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, student academic progress, and curriculum
  • Evaluate and select instructional materials such as textbooks, manuals, software, and tools
  • Participate in curriculum and program development, updating syllabi and assessing student performance indicators
  • Revise and update course content and materials of instruction in accordance with new theory and industry developments
  • Attend and participate on committees and in department, division, campus, and district meetings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 2 years of professional experience
  • Current AART certification and registration in radiography

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 2 years of professional experience, including teaching experience, directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment.
