Radar Electrical/Design Engineer - Aviation

About This Role

This role involves designing and verifying FPGA digital logic for aviation radar processing systems. The engineer will perform architectural roles, support trade-off analyses of radar/DSP algorithms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform FPGA architectural role for multi-FPGA radar processing systems
• Support trade-off analyses of radar / DSP algorithm implementation options
• Support FPGA part selection and system partitioning
• Create, debug, and verify FPGA-based designs
• Support FPGA design certification activities (DO-254)
• Collaborate effectively with other FPGA design team members
• Collaborate effectively with team members from hardware, software, and other technical disciplines

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0
• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated proficiency with a complicated schematic and PCB design consisting of one or more PCB’s
• Broad technical knowledge and skills in one or more areas of Electrical Engineering (e.g., analog, digital, RF, and/or DSP)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Electrical or Computer Engineering

Nice to Have

• Cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5
• Extensive circuit design experience for consumer or aviation products
• Demonstrated knowledge of digital logic design
• Demonstrated knowledge of one or more of the following: radar, radio, DSP
• Ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team
• Significant FPGA design experience
• Strong working knowledge & experience of radar processing and DSP
