About This Role

Manage quality systems and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 for a leading provider of high-power lasers. Drive resolution of customer and supplier quality issues, mentor teams, and implement continuous improvement initiatives across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9001
  • Manage quality systems in Vancouver, Camas, and Hillsboro, and network for best practices globally
  • Manage the Document Change Request (DCR) process
  • Establish and maintain quality standards, protocols, and procedures
  • Facilitate Product Data Management (PDM) system, records, and process flow
  • Facilitate Engineering Change Order (ECO) process, risk, and approvals
  • Monitor and analyze quality metrics (e.g., CAPA, Audits, Documentation) and implement corrective actions
  • Provide supervision and leadership to direct reports, including performance management and development
  • Lead projects for organizational improvement supporting ISO 9001, CAPAs, data systems, and business processes
  • Utilize quality improvement methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean, and Kaizen
  • Coordinate base information and changes with contract manufacturers
  • Audit supplier quality systems for compliance with ISO 9001 and nLIGHT requirements
  • Lead Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) Review Board
  • Prepare for and lead internal and external quality audits for timely and effective reviews
  • Maintain detailed records of quality system activities and audits and prepare performance reports for management

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer, Quality Manager, Quality Auditor, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience as a supervisor or manager
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, math, statistics, or equivalent
  • Experience with the 7 quality tools
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with auditing manufacturing processes within production/assembly environment
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to a diverse audience
  • Strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Ability to resolve issues/problems that involve numerous variables in demanding situations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, math, statistics, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer, Quality Manager, Quality Auditor, or related field and a minimum of 2 years of supervisory/manager experience
