Quality Inspector - Mechanical - Level II

About This Role

Verify and ensure the quality of mechanical parts through inspection, adhering to drawing intents and utilizing precision measurement tools. This role involves working within a Quality Management System and creating Inspection Test Plans.

Responsibilities

• Verify that inspection equipment is capable of detecting defects and ensure inspection methodology is in line with drawing intent
• Work within the Quality Management system and undergo basic training on policies and procedures
• Read and understand drawings to pull dimensions to create Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)
• Determine appropriate inspection equipment and methodology to effectively measure/inspect different mechanical parts
• Utilize SAP to upload ITPs for each part where one is created

Requirements

• Previous mechanical inspection experience
• Knowledge of GD&T and inspection methodologies
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow inspection plans and protocols
• Experience with the use of precision measurement tools and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering drawings
• Ability to work effectively within a quality management system

Qualifications

• Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school; college degree in engineering (preferred)
• 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with 2 years as a Mechanical Inspector (preferred)

Nice to Have

• Certified or previously certified in GD&T ASME Y-14.5
• Experience with AS9102 (FAI)
• Experience with SAP or ERP system
• Experience with Certification of Conformance
• Knowledge of mechanical contract manufacturing and LEAN manufacturing
