About This Role

Lead quality engineering efforts for Amphenol Military High Speed, focusing on identifying and addressing quality concerns, initiating corrective actions, and ensuring continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and products. This role ensures adherence to quality standards like ISO-9001 and AS-9100.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and discuss quality concerns with manufacturing departments
  • Identify, prioritize, and address all significant and repetitious quality problems
  • Initiate and verify the effectiveness of formal corrective actions
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of ISO-9001, AS-9100, Amphenol's Quality Manual, and subordinate procedures
  • Enforce quality policies
  • Maintain working knowledge of products, associated processes, and state of the art inspection techniques like AOI (automated optical inspection)
  • Conduct quality audits when appropriate and when assigned
  • Take prudent actions to achieve continuous improvement in reducing cost of non-quality and customer returns
  • Investigate and disposition customer returns involving product from area of responsibility
  • Assign workloads to hourly inspection teams
  • Manage hourly inspector work schedules

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or equivalent related experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
  • 5-10 years' experience as a Quality Engineer
  • Knowledge of statistical methods
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Data3 software
  • Ability to understand and apply all types of quality and engineering documents, specifications, drawings, reports and forms, current quality practices, and engineering terminology
  • Ability to work extensively with Amphenol's systems, including the AS400 main frame and local network
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to work cross functionally in a smaller, diverse work environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain constructive professional relationships with peers and customers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel freely throughout a manufacturing floor environment

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree required or equivalent related experience
  • 5-10 years' experience as a Quality Engineer with 1-3 years' supervisory/lead engineer experience preferred in an industrial/manufacturing environment
