Quality Batching Technician

About This Role

The Quality Batching Technician will be responsible for planning, executing, and documenting quality inspections across operating work centers, assisting with batch preparation and testing of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products, and completing various shift tests to ensure product quality and conformity.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and document results of 2-4 Quality Inspection rounds per shift across all operating work centers
• Assist in raw material, work-in-process batch preparation, finished product batching, and finished product sample collection and testing
• Complete and document results of shift testing including tensile, roundness and force testing, wire diameter checks, hanging weight tests, ingredient weigh-up and dispensing
• Document non-conforming material, calculate/perform rational AQL assessments to disposition nonconforming material
• Support and execute in process quality studies of new and existing materials, AQL's, analyzing data, database maintenance, statistical analysis, and identifying/implementing corrective actions
• Develop/support/establish/document raw material and work in process standards/specifications
• Actively use 5 Why process to understand root causes of production issues and develop/implement sustainable corrective actions
• Assist in the design, execution, data gathering and analysis of product trials and experiments
• Maintain 5S in the QA lab
• Support evaluation of new and existing processes and raw materials

Requirements

• Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule for peer vacations/PTO coverage
• Ability to work with some hazardous materials, requiring specialized PPE including respiratory protection
